This season's jackets are extraordinarily reminiscent of military uniforms and jackets. Military lapels and buttons continue to dominate menswear from last season. Military colours like olive green and black are also incorporated. These all reminded me of the time I was serving my National Service in the Air Force. Everyone in smart uniforms - they are a sign of respect, the level of maintenance of the uniform denotes how responsible the personnel is and is a sign of respect to the organisation too. Of course, what we are looking for in a jacket is not how well it follows this season's colours or trends, but how it can be turned into a versatile piece for everyday wear (for years to come too).
